What is Basingstoke Live?

Basingstoke Live is a free family friendly two day music festival with five stages which showcases local artists as well as some national and international acts. Basingstoke Live is part of the Basingstoke Festival 2017.

Where is it held?

The event takes place at War Memorial Park, Basingstoke RG21 4AH. Please see our directions for information on how to find it.

When is the event?

Basingstoke Live takes place on the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2017.

What time does it start and finish?

Gates open at 12.30pm on both days. The event finishes at 10.30pm on Saturday and 7.30pm on Sunday.

Please note that last admission to Basingstoke Live on Saturday 8 July is 8pm.

Do I need a ticket?

Yes. Free tickets are available online and all you will need to do is simply sign up

Once you have registered you will be sent an e-ticket by email. You can either print this out and bring it with you on the day or present the email including the e-ticket on your smart phone at the entrance so it can be scanned.

If they are still available, you can sign up for tickets on the day at the event. We can’t guarantee how long this will take so please book in advance to beat the queue. Your last opportunity to get a ticket on Saturday will be 7.55pm as there is no entry to the event after 8pm. Please note that children under the age of five do not need a ticket.

How many tickets can I sign up for?

You can register for up to 10 tickets at one time but you must enter details for all those in your party, apart from those under 5.

You can also register for either one day or both days. Just bring your e-ticket with you on the day that you are coming. Please note that if you intend to come along on both Saturday and Sunday you can get a weekend ticket.

What should I do if I have a problem with the ticket system?

If you have a problem signing up for a ticket or you do not receive a confirmation email to download your ticket please contact the customer support team at Ticketscript (our ticket provider) at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or visit the Ticketscript website support page.

If I leave the event, can I come back in?

Yes. However the last admission to Basingstoke Live on Saturday 8 July is 8pm.

Is public car parking available?

Yes, a free public car park will be available next to War Memorial park accessed from London Road. Please follow the signs or see the map.

Is there disabled access and parking?

Yes. There is disabled access to the event at all of the entrances. Please note that this event is held in War Memorial Park which is a grassed area with uneven ground.

There is a disabled viewing platform near the Main Stage and disabled toilets will also be available. Please ask a steward on the day for assistance or contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) prior to the event to discuss how we can accommodate your access needs. 

Disabled parking for Blue Badge Holders is available at War Memorial Park and can be accessed via Crossborough Hill off London Road.

Is there an age limit?

There is no age limit to attend Basingstoke Live. However, if you want to drink alcohol at the event, you will need to bring an acceptable form of photographic identification with you.

Basingstoke Live will be operating a ‘challenge 25’ policy. If you are considered to be under the age of 25 you may be asked for ID. Wrist bands will also be issued on entry to those who wish to purchase alcohol and are over 18.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food to the event and we are openly encouraging you to bring picnics.

Unfortunately you will not be allowed to bring alcoholic drinks into the event. You can bring non-alcoholic drinks in with you but they must be sealed and unopened. A variety of licensed bars and catering outlets are also available at the event as well as a free drinking water point near the Main Stage.

Glass containers, camp cookers and BBQs are prohibited items at Basingstoke Live.

Why can’t I bring my own alcohol into the event anymore?

As responsible event organisers, Basingstoke Live wants to ensure the event is appropriate for everyone and offers a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Alcohol can only be purchased from our onsite food and drink outlets. These bars will be encouraged to offer standard prices.

What is your drugs policy?

Basingstoke Live will not tolerate the use of illegal drugs at the event. Former New Psychoactive Substances known as ‘legal highs’ are also prohibited under the Psychoactive Substances Act which came into effect on 26 May 2016.

Please do not bring them. You will be searched when entering the site and search dogs will be in operation. If you are found in possession of an illegal substance it will be confiscated and you will be refused entry to the event. In addition, the Police will be informed.

Can I smoke at the event?

Yes although smoking is not permitted inside the tents. This includes vaping.

Can I bring a dog?

No, dogs and other pets are not permitted at the event, with the exception of registered assistance dogs.

Can I camp at the event?

No, camping is not permitted at Basingstoke Live.

Can I work at Basingstoke Live?

Unfortunately there are no paid work opportunities at Basingstoke Live. To find out about volunteering, contact Basingstoke Voluntary Services Youth Team on 01256 423812 for more information. Alternatively, find out how you could be a Basingstoke Festival Ambassador.

Can I trade at Basingstoke Live?

Yes. Please see our trade and catering information.

Will photographs and/or video be taken at Basingstoke Live?

Yes. Photography, video and audio recordings may be used in publicity material (including social media) for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Basingstoke Live or Basingstoke Festival. If you don’t want a close up image of you to be used please make our official photographer aware on the day. Alternatively please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Who is Basingstoke Live organised by?

Basingstoke Live is funded by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and is programmed by the Basingstoke Live Forum.

Other information…

What if I am coming with a baby?

There are baby changing facilities on site. Please note that baby food in glass containers are not permitted as they are prohibited items.

What are acceptable forms of identification?

The following are considered as acceptable forms of identification

• Your original driving licence photo card
• Your original passport
• An identification card carrying the PASS scheme hologram. Apply for a PASS card.

How do I get a press, photography or filming pass?

What if I don’t have access to a computer to book a ticket?

Your friends, family or colleagues may be able to help you. They can sign up for a maximum of four tickets online if they have access to a computer. Alternatively some community centres and local libraries such as The Basingstoke Discovery Centre have public computers available for use.

What if I do not have access to the internet?

Many town centre businesses and community centres such as The Basingstoke Discovery Centre offer free Wifi services. Please note that you will need an email address to register.
