The headline acts for this year’s Basingstoke Live music festival have been confirmed as grime and dubstep artist P Money and ska veterans The Neville Staple Band. An impressive line-up is also set to follow.
English grime MC P Money will headline the festival on Saturday 9 July. His discography features a long list of impressive urban music artists, such as Lethal Bizzle, Wiley and Chipmunk. With his ability to combine grime and dubstep, swift flow and lyrical ability, P Money is sure to make Saturday a night to remember.
The Neville Staple Band will then take over the stage on Sunday 10 July. Described fondly by Pete Waterman as ‘The original rude boy,’ Neville has been touring the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand relentlessly since 2004 with his own band. He also released his album Ska Crazy in 2014, which included old ska classics as well as brand new material.
The free two day musical extravaganza – organised by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, working with the Basingstoke Live Forum – will provide a fantastic end to this year’s Basingstoke Festival. The full line-up for the weekend will be announced soon.
The council’s Head of Borough Development and Implementation Chas Bradfield said: “Basingstoke Live always offers something for all musical tastes. This year’s headline acts are no different and with a wealth of talent in the borough I am sure the rest of the line-up will be just as exciting.”
