Kings Of The City is a band tearing up the rule book of previous established boundaries for musical genres. They exist in the badlands between Blues, Rock and Hip Hop somewhere in the midst of Jake Bugg, Plan B, Oasis and Wretch 32. Their high octane live shows with dark, powerful sung vocals, energetic raps and in your face blues laden guitar riffs have been raising the roof all over the UK.
KOTC is the brainchild of rapper Ali Bla Bla and lead singer/guitarist Danny Wilder who met as teenagers at a Busta Rhymes concert. They influenced each other’s musical taste, Ali’s passion for Hip Hop and Grime fusing with Danny’s love for Blues and Rock n Roll creating the nucleus for what was to become the KOTC sound. Soon Ali recruited childhood friends Kayo Ken (rapper), Memari Man (bass) and Richie 2Pun (guitar) as well as his younger brother EightBit (synths / programming) and drummer Royal. The band then set off on a road that has seen them tour with Maverick Sabre, be described as “the future” by one of the foremost UK tastemakers Zane Lowe live on Radio 1 and be viewed as one of the most exciting new bands by their peers and fans.
